Chess, Kasparov, and Success

I love Chess - the ROYAL game? What about you?

If you're a Chess fan like me, you might probably know Garry Kasparov. He is the most successful chess player of all time.

In his book, "How Life Imitates Chess", he shares his insights into life as a game of strategy.

One of the key success lessons that he learned from Chess is the importance of PREPARATION. He dedicated a whole chapter in his book talking about how preparation pays off in many ways.

He says, "I studied all the latest games from the LEADING players and carefully noted their innovations, and I would then analyze them and try to improve on them"

Do you take enough time to discover the clues left behind by successful people and prepare for your success in any endeavor?

Studying the tactics and strategies of other successful people and then improving on them, is a very important success skill. It's always been said that the easiest way to become successful is to find someone who is already successful and follow in his footsteps.

7 Great Ways to a Stress-Full Life!

Good news! After you finish reading this short article, you’ll have a proven recipe for a life full of stress. Read it carefully and most importantly take action. I guarantee that if you follow this recipe you’ll not miss a second without the beauty of stress!

Don’t you know that physical and mental stress greatly affects your daily performance? So, here are 7 proven tips to keep yourself stress-full:

1. Don’t Ever Think of Eating Healthy Food Daily. Don’t start your day with a complete breakfast, since this is NOT very important to keep you going through the whole day. To survive the tiring hours ahead, DON’T include in your diet energy-giving foods, like bread or pasta. Skip meals, eat sweets and junk food as much as possible.

2. Never Find Time to Rest. WARNING: Having enough rest relaxes your mind and your body, so stay away from it. Sleep is a basic physical necessity, so before you face the daily humdrum, be sure that you’ve LESS THAN 8 hours of sleep the night before. If work is too hectic, NEVER schedule a vacation. Replace rest with drinking all those relaxants or vitamins.

3. Don’t Ever Drink Plenty of Water Daily. Make sure not to drink between six and eight glasses a day, because this will keep you replenished and hydrated – and you don’t want that, do you? Busy people tend to lose more body fluids in a day because of tension and sweat.

4. Forget about Exercising Daily. Please stay away from exercising, because it will keep your cells functioning properly and will also improve blood circulation in your system. Also, it is VERY painful! WARNING: Daily exercise also helps the cell properly consume the oxygen and the nutrients carried by the blood. Without exercise, you can easily keep wanted toxins in your body.

5. Immerse Yourself in Stress. Stress can result to anxiety and will eventually leave you unproductive – that is perfect. Since stress is unavoidable, then do your best to maximize it. When you are at work and tense, for instance, don’t take some time off to breathe deeply and clear your head. Instead, work more!

6. Ignore Prioritization. Focus on the easy tasks and leave the important ones later. The least important work should come first and the most important work should follow or be delayed as much as you can. Remember, efficiency is doing MORE in less time. Therefore, your goal is to finish as many silly and easy task as you can.

7. Please Don't Relax. Don’t go out and spend some leisure time with your friends and your family – this is a BIG waste of time. Who will take care of your worries? Does it make any sense to just think about nothing but fun, fun, fun? All your time should be dedicated to work on your stressors, and there is NO TIME to leave them all behind and focus on pampering yourself.

Now all joking aside, in order to accomplish all your daily tasks, you have to be physically and mentally fit. Too much workload could lead to stress and exhaustion, which is the last thing anybody wants to experience.

Stress is something you can manage – by keeping yourself healthy and happy, that’s it. Reverse the tips mentioned here and savor some “me” time once in a while. After all, nobody can really be too busy to take a few seconds off time to CELEBRATE life. Take care of your body, so it will also take care of you.

How Socratic Wisdom Summarized Success in Two Words!

The wisest man in history summarized success and achieving full potential in just two words - literally!

Who was this man?

He was an ancient Greek philosopher credited with exerting a powerful influence upon the founders of Western philosophy, particularly Plato and Aristotle.

His name was Socrates - the legendary philosopher!

I really enjoy learning about success wisdom through the ages, so one day I decided to look for some quotes by Socrates to see if there was anything in Socratic wisdom that could relate to achieving success in life.

I was stunned when I came across one of Socrates’ most famous quotes - a quote that literally summarized in just two words how a person could unleash his full potential and achieve success.

And those two amazing words...?

"Know yourself!"

From my point of view, this simple yet profound phrase is by far the best piece of wisdom that Socrates ever offered to his fellow man!

Those two little words hold the key to unleashing your full personal power. The more you know about yourself, the more you can achieve. If you don't know yourself really well, you'll end up limiting yourself by playing it safe - and in doing so, you’ll waste 95% of your true potential.

Do you know how powerful you are? Don't just look at who you are right now - look at what you can be! You're one of God's most magnificent creatures. You have a brain with fantastic powers and potential. Just think - despite the greatest advancements in biology and anatomy, scientists have only just begun to discover the true capabilities of the brain.

Did you know that:

- Einstein's brain was of average size.

- Your heart beats 101,000 times a day.

- 50,000 of the cells in your body will die and be replaced by new cells in the time it takes you to read this sentence!

- In one hour, your heart works hard enough to produce the equivalent energy to raise almost one ton of weight one yard off the ground.

- In one square inch of skin there are four yards of nerve fibers, 1300 nerve cells, 100 sweat glands, three million cells, and three yards of blood vessels.

- There are 45 miles of nerves in a human being.

- One human brain generates more electrical impulses in a single day than all of the world's telephones put together.

- If your entire DNA is stretched out, it would reach to the moon 6,000 times.

- The muscle that controls the blinking of your eye is the fastest muscle in your body.

- Behind the iris of your eye is a soft, rubbery lens that focuses light onto the retina. The retina contains about 125 million rods and 7 million cones. The rods pick up shades of grey and help us see in dim light, and the cones work best in bright light to pick up colors.

- We actually do not see with our eyes, we see with our brains. The eyes are basically the cameras of the brain. One-quarter of the brain is used to control the eyes.

And that’s just to mention a few of the facts scientists have discovered so far!

And then you hear people say, “I can’t.” Throw that word in the trash can! Burn it, bury it, and forget about it FOREVER. With all your miracles, how on earth can you say you “can’t?” If you can’t, then who CAN?

Wake up, wake up, WAKE UP!

Look inside yourself and you'll find one miracle after another. With all that potential and all those capabilities, why are you limiting yourself?

Know who you truly are and you will soon understand what you can achieve. Just believe in yourself. Know your values and beliefs. Know your talents and passions. Know your true purpose and what you're meant to do in this life. Know your strengths as well as your weaknesses.

Know yourself. You live with yourself more than you live with anyone else. Don't you think you should know everything about your everlasting partner?

I’m going to ask you to do one thing - I promise, just one thing! But in return, please promise me that you will do it. I know you will.

Starting today, find out more about yourself than you know about your favorite movie star. Fair enough?

Believe me, the world needs you and you can make a difference - a BIG difference. When you know who you truly are, you will be amazed at what you can be and do in this life. Unleash YOURSELF!

The Socratic wisdom is simple. All you have to do is follow the advice of those two little words: “Know yourself!” Your success is waiting just around the corner.
