How to Accelerate Your Professional Growth Using Mind Magnetization!

Did you know that your life is driven -unconsciously- by your dominant thoughts? As a corporate professional you need to develop positive, powerful, and supportive dominant thoughts to help you accelerate your professional growth and live up to your core values.

What is a dominant thought?

A dominant thought is a major idea or concept that you think about most of the time, day and night. For example, your dominant thought might be about a salary increase, and you find yourself thinking day and night about how to get paid more. Or it might be about getting married; perhaps you're constantly thinking about marriage and constantly searching for the right partner.

You might also have a negative dominant thought. Maybe you think you're a loser, so instead of taking bold action, you just sit in the corner and refuse to leave your comfort zone. Or perhaps you believe other people don't like or accept you, and as a result you fear criticism and avoid social gatherings. Still another dominant thought could be that you want to switch your career or open your own business; to that end, you keep your mind and eyes open 24/7 looking for opportunities to achieve that career shift or fulfill that entrepreneurial dream.

A dominant thought is the driving factor, either consciously or subconsciously, behind your decisions and actions in life.

Why are your dominant thoughts so vital for your growth? Because they magnetize your mind!

And that brings us to the fifth thought control tactic: Mind Magnetization.

When you have a dominant thought that is backed by intense emotions, your mind becomes a huge magnet that attracts people, forces, material things, and opportunities to help you affirm and fulfill that dominant thought.

This concept is one form of the law of attraction: what you focus on expands. You attract more of what you think of most of the time. If your dominant thoughts are negative, you will attract negative circumstances to your life that affirm your beliefs, and vice versa.

You need to identify your dominant thoughts. Reinforce the positive; question and alter the negative. You need to make sure that your mind is positively magnetized to attract prosperity, accelerate your growth, and fulfill your desires and goals.

Let’s go back to the pharaohs’ time and take a look at an illustration of the power of a dominant thought.

Herodotus, a Greek historian who lived in the 5th century BC, tells us that the ancient Egyptians were “religious to a higher degree than any other people." One of the dominant thoughts of their religion was their strong belief in an afterlife.

Ancient Egyptians believed that they would be reborn into another life. In order to avoid being counted among the damned of the afterlife, one had not only to venerate the Egyptian gods, but also to live by a code of standards that would be judged after death.

The Egyptians also believed that the heart, which contained the record of the morality of the owner, was weighed against a single feather representing Ma'at (the concept of truth and order). If the outcome was favorable, one entered heaven; if not, one entered hell.

A heart that weighed less than the feather was considered a pure heart that was not weighed down by sins or the guilt of one's actions in life; such a heart resulted in a favorable verdict. A heart heavy with sin and the guilt of one's actions in life weighed more than the feather; that heart was eaten by Ammit (Eater of Hearts), who was part crocodile, part lion, and part hippopotamus.

It was just that strong belief in the afterlife that led the Egyptians to build temples to venerate and worship their gods, to invent mummification, and to erect tombs and pyramids in which to bury and preserve their bodies for the afterlife. They even preserved the internal organs of the mummified bodies in canopic jars within these tombs so that the organs could be used again in the afterlife. For ancient Egyptians, a tomb was not just a place to lay a dead body; instead, it became the deceased person’s new “home” and was supplied with all the goods needed to exist after death.

Had it not been for the ancient Egyptians, their fascinating religion, and their unwavering belief in the afterlife, there would probably be little reason to visit Egypt today. The great Pyramids would not exist, nor of course would the fabulous temples, the tombs with their mummies on the West Bank of Thebes (modern Luxor), nor the colorful decorations that adorn these structures that have lured travelers to Egypt for the past three thousand years.

That is the power of a dominant thought: it magnetizes your mind and guides your actions. A dominant thought could lead to prosperity and a lasting legacy, or to failure and an uninspired life.
